Verizon Insurance – Verizon has announced a special enrollment in its mobile insurance program. While customers typically need to register within 30 days of purchasing an iPhone or other cell phone, Verizon allows customers with a new or replacement device to opt out during that window. The biggest update coming soon to the protection program is free, unlimited screen repair.

Upgrading the program until April 27th is unlimited screen repairs with $0 rebates. Additionally, the minimum price for replacing damaged phones will drop from $249 to $99 (one exception is for New York residents, who will remain at $29 for the screen and $229 for the hardware replacement).

Verizon offers so many different plans that it can be difficult to keep track of them. Previously, they only had Complete Equipment (TEC), Wireless Phone Protection (WPP) and Extended Warranty. Today, they offer Verizon Protect as a premium plan, Mobile Protection (TMP) and a few multi-device plans in addition to the top three.
All are slightly different in features. Below is a full comparison page, so I won’t explain it here. However, Verizon offers Verizon Protection with many features, most of which are related to privacy and security. Most people will probably be fine with the full kit, as it covers loss/theft/damage, extends the warranty and offers a day replacement as well as battery replacement.
When it comes to pricing, Verizon doesn’t make it easy to compare things like this, but it should look like this:

Verizon’s subscription to all of its protection options ends on May 6, so you have time to think about it. The phone keeps breaking. He probably walked out of the store and threw it on the sidewalk. It looks like Verizon will be making some nice changes to its insurance coverage under the “Mobile Protect” program.
Verizon Mobile Protect offers complete equipment for $14 to $17 per month, depending on equipment level. They offer multiple devices for $50 per month which is 3 lines/device, and additional lines are $11.40 per month.
In comparison, SquareTrade offers protection for 1 device for $8.99 per month and a family plan for 4 devices for $19.99 per month. However, the deductible is $149 per claim, regardless of issue.
Verizon Wireless Trade In Program: Their Customers Will Love It (updated February 2022)
Posted below, Verizon will quickly adjust the discount for paying customers when they file a claim. The changes make Verizon insurance less competitive.
Currently, Verizon (through insurance partner Asurion) pays $29 to repair a cracked screen on a covered device. The cost of replacing an entire device, if the device is completely damaged or lost, is between $229 and $249. Here’s an estimate taken from the Pixel 7 straight from Asurion’s website.
This reduction will decrease significantly soon. Starting April 27, 2023, Verizon will apparently offer free data on all covered devices. Plus, if you need a full replacement, the price drops to a reasonable $99.

Peace of mind around $17 a month isn’t too bad. Knowing that you can get a free screen can encourage you to use your new Galaxy S23 without judgment.
